Mohamad “Adam” Brooks, MSW

Mr. Brooks is a doctoral student at CUSSW. He completed his MSW from Boston College with a concentration in Clinical Global Practice and his BS in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts, Mr. Brooks worked with individuals experiencing mental health emergencies and provided behavioral health services in outpatient settings. Prior to joining ASPIRE, Mr. Brooks was the Community Support Program Director at Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts (JFSWM), where he supervised a culturally diverse clinical and paraprofessional staff who provided behavioral health and community support services for refugees. At JFSWM, Mr. Brooks liaised with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health researchers to focus mental health disparities among Bhutanese refugee youth. His current research interest focuses on refugee mental health and their help-seeking behaviors. He has considerable global and life experience living in Indonesia, India and completed his MSW internship in South Africa.
